I first met the artist Amandeep Singh – better known as Inkquisitive to his friends – on a previous shoot. After discovering we had a shared love of hip hop and art we got on like a house on fire. As well as being an incredibly talented artist, Amandeep is also very photogenic. So when he asked me to shoot some portraits of him for his personal use I jumped at the chance.

Our location search was as relaxed as they come. We picked a day to roam the always fascinating streets of Shoreditch, London – where else? – on the look out for interesting nooks and crannies, whilst chatting about our favourite subjects. Eventually we found a fantastic bar dripping with neon that allowed us to discreetly craft these lifestyle portraits.

Most of these shots were taken with a video light and some flash too. It was an honour to be given the trust and freedom to shoot Amandeep, whose talents you can see for yourself right here.
